Tenoverten | Brand Story

Conceptualized by co-founders Nadine Abramcyk and Adair Ilyinsky, the tenoverten brand was created as a response to the lack of proper nail salons in their Tribeca neighborhood. The goal was to create a lovely environment where clients could relax and enjoy expert services in a comfortable and social setting.

Today, with six locations in New York City, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, each tenoverten salon feels like a beautiful apartment rather than a typical nail salon. Led by a team of talented and highly trained staff, tenoverten achieves an unmatched level of customer service, specializing in custom services tailored to the client’s needs. Each tenoverten is guided by the mission of bringing back the simple pleasure in getting a manicure and pedicure.

In 2011, with the expert help of partner and Creative Director Jaclyn Ferber, the tenoverten polish and nail care collection was launched as a continuation of the tenoverten mission and brand philosophy. The collection is composed of gorgeous, 8-free long-lasting colors and care that promote stronger and healthier nails. tenoverten’s color stories are not trend driven but are a response to what is beautiful and our clients' needs. A unique mix of neutrals, brights, deeps, and metallics, tenoverten polishes are designed to be smooth and streak-free, allowing for easy application at-home or in the salon. Each tenoverten polish is named after a street in Downtown Manhattan and embodies the essence of the unique neighborhoods that inspire them. In addition to polish, tenoverten offers nail care products that provide a more natural alternative to traditional treatments.

All tenoverten nail polish and nail care is rid of formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, xylene, and triphenyl phosphate (TPHP), making them 8-free. tenoverten products are also cruelty free, vegan, and made in the USA in a factory that honors the Leaping Bunny Program manifesto. This program provides the best assurance that no animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories or suppliers.
